On November 24th, Spread the Love Projects proudly hosted a sold-out dinner event at the Grand Concourse, welcoming 150 guests, including esteemed partners such as the UPMC Community Health staff and representatives from Slippery Rock University’s Honors College. This special evening celebrated the strides STLP has made in addressing healthcare equity and supporting families facing pediatric health challenges.

The event featured an inspiring lineup of speeches and recognitions. Dr. Owusu-Ansah delivered a compelling address on the importance of pediatric health and the impactful collaboration between Spread the Love Projects and UPMC to better serve the local community. Mr. Khalid Ajmal passionately advocated for healthcare equality, emphasizing the importance of equitable access to care within our community. One of the evening’s most heartfelt moments came from Hannah Brown, who shared the story of her son Colton. STLP has supported the Brown family for the past several months, and hearing her testimony highlighted the real, transformative difference the organization makes in families’ lives.

The evening also included the presentation of the prestigious President’s Award to STLP Treasurer Zayaan Tirmizi, whose dedication and leadership have propelled the organization to new heights. Zayaan’s contributions were celebrated as a testament to the power of committed individuals in driving meaningful change.

In addition to the speeches, guests enjoyed a vibrant evening of activities. A raffle featuring prize baskets provided by generous community partners helped raise funds for STLP’s mission, while attendees savored a sumptuous four-course meal. The night was a true celebration of community, gratitude, and shared purpose. STLP extends heartfelt thanks to the Grand Concourse staff, whose efforts ensured the evening’s success, and to all the internal team members and supporters who made this event possible.

As Spread the Love Projects looks to the future, our mission remains steadfast: easing financial hardships for families navigating pediatric medical costs and creating lasting, positive change in the community.

Also, a special thank you goes to Paul Koontz at Peak Visualz for capturing the event’s unforgettable moments through his incredible photography.

Together, we are making a difference—one family, one story, one project at a time.
