Logistics Manager


**This is a volunteer (unpaid) position.**

Position Summary:

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Logistics Manager to oversee inventory management, procurement, budgeting requests, and shipping operations. The Logistics Manager will ensure that essential resources are available, efficiently managed, and distributed to support our programs and initiatives. This role is crucial in maintaining smooth operational workflows and maximizing the impact of our efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track and manage inventory levels to ensure necessary supplies are available for projects and assistance programs.

  • Oversee purchasing of supplies and equipment while ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with budget constraints.

  • Prepare and submit budget approval requests for procurement needs.

  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to place orders and ensure timely deliveries.

  • Manage shipping and distribution logistics for donated items and purchased goods to beneficiaries and partner organizations.

  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory levels, and shipments.

  • Work closely with the finance team to align procurement activities with budget planning and financial reporting.

  • Identify areas for operational improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations and internal policies regarding procurement and logistics.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in logistics, inventory management, procurement, or supply chain operations.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to track and analyze inventory and procurement data to optimize resource allocation.

  • Proficiency in inventory management software and budgeting tools.

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Experience in nonprofit logistics and distribution is a plus.

  • Passion for social impact and alignment with the mission of Spread the Love Projects.

Term Limit:

6 - 12 months 

Hours:

  • Weekly Meetings

  • Asynchronous work throughout the week

  • Average 2 hours per week
