On May 22, 2024, Spread the Love Projects (STLP) celebrated a significant milestone with our largest distribution event to date at the Universal Academy of Pittsburgh (UAP). This initiative, part of our CARE (Children's Access to Resources and Equality) Project, was dedicated to providing essential supplies to underserved children and promoting health and wellness education.
In total, STLP distributed 7,091 essential items, including 328 articles of clothing, 6,008 hygiene products, 394 toys, and 361 health and wellness products. This comprehensive distribution ensured that the children received not only immediate necessities but also items that contribute to their overall well-being.
During the event, STLP's Community Health Educator, Alisha Virk, BSN, RN, led an engaging and informative hygiene discussion for the female students. Her session covered fundamental health principles and included an important conversation on female reproductive health. Simultaneously, our Treasurer, Zayaan Tirmizi, conducted a parallel session for the male students, focusing on general health, hygiene, and reproductive health.
We are committed to making a tangible impact within our community, and this event at UAP exemplifies that commitment. By providing these essential supplies and critical health education, we are taking steps to ensure these children have the resources they need to thrive.
The successful event at UAP underscores STLP's dedication to fostering a healthier, more equitable community. Through initiatives like the CARE Project, STLP continues to work towards "changing the world one project at a time." With the unwavering support of our donors and volunteers, STLP remains steadfast in our mission to create positive change. We look forward to continuing our efforts to support and uplift underserved communities.
